George Finnie

A qualified Chartered Accountant , George had a successful career in the banking industry for over 20 years, working as a Corporate/Regional Director for several banks, covering a wide range of sectors and industries (providing finance for MBOs, MBIs and growth situations) & in property finance (both investment and development).

He later worked as an Investment Manager for Strathclyde Pension Fund, one of the biggest Local Government Pension Funds in the UK, running its Private Markets fund (an allocation of £800m) investing in alternative assets such as infrastructure, renewable energy, private equity and direct lending.

Over the course of his career, George has been involved with both the debt and equity sides of the fundraising process and as a result has a broad range of contacts which can be brought to bear for clients as required. His non-executive roles have also impressed on him the need for strong strategic direction and integrity within boards  as he always aims to build better communication and teamwork in his roles.
