Hospitality expert joins GJC as new associate

The fast growth business consultancy GJC is pleased to announce the appointment of Andy Dempster as an Associate to the business.  Andy is an expert in the hospitality sector with over 20 years of experience having worked from the bottom rung, right up to leadership positions. He is a forward-thinking, operational leader and has worked with numerous well-known restaurant brands and joins the team with immediate effect.

Andy’s approach to the hospitality sector in this post pandemic world, has been to operate with flexibility and adaptability. His strengths lie in building and enhancing brand reputations, reducing overheads, driving profits and increasing customer satisfaction. All of this with a backdrop of long-term growth planning.

Having made his way through management at a number of established household brand names, Andy secured his first senior role at TRG (The Restaurant Group) whose brands include the likes of Wagamama and Frankie & Benny’s. His most recent role has been as an Operations Director with Romet Group where he has been responsible for the development of the FIGO Italian neighbourhood restaurant brand.

While with Romet Group, Andy’s focus was on the implementation of systems, processes and change management. In the case of FIGO’s Stratford site, weekly takings went from £30k to between £85-100k and are still rising. What Andy has proved is that with the right leadership, the hospitality sector won’t just ‘survive’, it can actually ‘thrive’.

Commenting on the new appointment, GJC CEO Gavin Jones said: “It’s actually quite rare to find someone with Andy’s experience in the hospitality sector, there simply isn’t that many of them out there. The last few years have proved incredibly difficult for the sector, but the bounce back over recent months has been very positive. Andy’s played his part with that bounce back and has proved himself to be a valuable asset wherever he’s worked. Now that he’s part of the GJC family, I’m convinced he will deliver results for our existing clients in the sector as well as the new ones that we’re likely to attract following this appointment.”
